Seu Cuca, a Brazilian surf music band from Rio de Janeiro, was formed in 2000 by James Lima (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar), Pedro Sol (bass), and Daniel BZ (drums). Known for their upbeat and positive lyrics, they gained national prominence in 2005 with their album Daqui pra Frente and the hit single "Já Que Você Não Me Quer Mais," featured in the TV series Malhação. Their debut album, Onde Você Estiver (2003), was a major success, earning them a Multishow Brazilian Music Award nomination. The band’s discography includes Água-Viva (2011) and #MenteAberta (2014), with notable contributions from Felipe Bade and Bruno Lima over the years. They celebrated their 15th anniversary with a live DVD in 2015. Their latest album, Caminho para o Sol, was released in August 2024. Despite changes in lineup, Seu Cuca remains a vibrant force in Brazil's independent music scene.
