Delio Valdez (LDV) is a cumbia collective formed in 2009 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The group operates as a cooperative of musicians, blending original compositions with popular cumbia tunes while infusing elements of Andean traditions, reggae, rock, salsa, and jazz. Many of its members studied at the Popular Music School of Avellaneda. In 2012, they released their self-titled debut album, and in 2015, Ivonne Guzmán joined as the lead vocalist. The band has released several acclaimed albums, including La rueda del cumbión (2014) and Sonido subtropical (2018), which won them the prestigious Gardel Award for Best Tropical Music Album. Their first live album, La Delio Valrex, celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2019. LDV continues to evolve, releasing El tiempo y la serenata in 2021 and collaborating with artists like Karina and Abel Pintos. Their unique sound has made them a prominent figure in contemporary Argentine cumbia.
