The Denver Nuggets are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association. The Nuggets were a charter member of the American Basketball Association and started playing in 1967 as the Denver Rockets. In 1976, the Nuggets joined the NBA. They currently compete in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference.
