About
Celine Dion was born to a large, impoverished family in Charlemagne, Quebec, and despite the impecunious living conditions, Dion formed a deep rooted bond with music, specifically with female vocalists like Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Anne Murray and Barbra Streisand. After recording a number of albums in her native French tongue, Dion broke into the English language market in 1990 and has since remained one of the top female vocalists of her day. Several of her tracks, such as "My Heart Will Go On" from the Titanic soundtrack, have gone on to worldwide notoriety and endured as staples in contemporary pop music.
