Holger is a band that emerged in the Brazilian indie rock scene in 2006, formed by Bernardo Rolla, Charles Tixier, Marcelo Altenfelder, Marcelo Vogelaar, and Pedro Bruno. The band quickly established itself as a prominent force, bringing a new and refreshing sound influenced by Bahian axé, Brazilian pop from the 80s, electronic, Latin, and African music. In 2011, Holger won the Multishow Brazilian Music Award in the Best Band category chosen by the jury. In 2009, the band was nominated for two categories in the VMB (Video Music Brasil) awards: "MTV's Choice" and "Alternative Rock." Holger has played at festivals such as Planeta Terra, Lollapalooza Brazil, and SXSW (Austin, Texas), one of the most recognized festivals for new bands in the world. With four albums, two EPs, and several singles released, Holger is now preparing for the launch of their highly anticipated fifth album.
