Jorge Humberto González Ríos, born December 6, 1964, is a prominent Chilean singer-songwriter and producer, best known as the leader and vocalist of the influential post-punk band Los Prisioneros. Rising to fame in the early 1980s, González and his bandmates Claudio Narea and Miguel Tapia became symbols of resistance during Chile's military dictatorship. After the band disbanded in 1992, González pursued a solo career, releasing albums like Jorge González (1991) and El Futuro Se Fue (1994). Despite facing personal struggles and a brief hiatus, he formed the duo Los Updates with his wife in 2007. Though Los Updates disbanded in 2011, González returned to solo work, releasing albums such as Naked Tunes (2014) and Manchitas (2018). His contributions to music have solidified his legacy in Latin American rock.
