Stepping into the shoes once filled by hip-hop heavyweight Young Jeezy is a tall order, but when he decided quit the rap group Boyz n da Hood, Atlanta rapper Gorilla Zoe was able to step in with aplomb. Born Alonzo Mathis in 1980, Gorilla Zoe also has a prolific solo career, releasing a slew of successful records as well as a 2010 project where he released a mixtape every day for a whole month. Zoe is largely known for his raspy voice and detailed narratives of life in the illegal drug trade.
