Kat Burns had been writing songs all her life, when one fateful night the Toronto-native decided to finally record some of them and release the results as an album. The product she created in 2006 was The Sun and The Wind, a record sparked Burns into getting the idea that she wanted to have a group accompany her on stage to fill out her sound. So, she gathered four of her best friends from the local music scene and put together a reliable backing band. She felt there was no other way to go about the project unless she gave it a name, so she dubbed the whole thing Forest City Lovers.
