Dinosaur Feathers

After singing in a college a capella group together in Minnesota, Greg Sullo and Derek Zimmerman eventually decided to begin focusing their musical efforts on a new indie-folk project known as Dinosaur Feathers. Now a four-piece, the band released Fantasy Memorial, a debut album full of pastoral folk and oddball pop, in late 2009. Dinosaur Feathers' songs often begin simply and then diverge into unexpected directions, resulting in a feeling of fun and lighthearted whimsy. Frantic percussion, electronic blips and beeps, 50s-inspired pop and touches of Tropicalia all merge together successfully, thanks in large part to Sullo and Zimmerman's strong vocal interplay.
