Chimes and Bells

Danish band Chimes & Bells is lead by multi-instrumentalist Cæcilie Trier who is the lead singer and occasional cellist for the group. The band is ostensibly a pop group, although like many Scandinavian pop artists, they prefer to take unconventional approach. The music of Chimes & Bells mixes is considerably slow, sometimes employing electronic drum machines to achieve their laid-back aesthetic. Treir's voice is a key component of Chimes & Bells' music, she sings with a deep baritone voice that adds a sense of foreboding into their songs. A significant amount of sparse percussion defines the group's music, bringing to mind American band Beach House. Chimes and Bells first release is self-titled and was released in October of 2010.
