Cecil Otter

Minneapolis' Cecil Otter is a rapper who carries the emo rap torch of people like Atmosphere and his Rhymesayers Entertainment cohorts. Otter is part of his own hip-hop collective though, called Doomtree. The artists on Doomtree all seem to regard punk as a major influence on their music, often incorporating rock samples and punk aesthetics. Otter raps with the brutal honesty and angst that many of the rappers in larger emo rap genre rap with, a much sought after feature of independent midwest hip-hop. Otter's debut album is titled Rebel Yellow.
