Calder Quartet

Los Angeles' Calder Quartet consists of two violins, a viola and a cello. The Quartet is comprised of an unusually young group of classically trained musicians who are interested in re-interpreting classical music's most revered compositions into something both familiar and not. The group has provided arrangements for a wide variety of artists including Terry Riley, Andrew W.K. and Vampire Weekend. The Calder Quartet has released albums covering Christopher Rouse's String Chamber Works as well as Mozart, Ravel, and Thomas Ades.
