Seattle-based five-piece, Brent Amaker and the Rodeo produces over-the-top glam country that both glorifies and makes fun of the American genre. With lyrics about whiskey and women, and songs heavily influenced by vintage outlaw country and 80s glam rock, the band has proven to be highly unpopular with country aficionados, but enjoyed by fans of indie or alternative music. After forming in 2005, Brent Amaker and the Rodeo began to build a following of fans amused by the band's antics, including grindcore filmmaker Jay Cynik, who used the band in one of his films and began a comic book series about the band's life on tour.
