Forged during Minneapolis' cold winter of 2005, Banner Pilot is a four-piece band created by veterans of the city's punk rock scene. Reminiscent of the punk bands of the early 2000s that played more pop than punk, Banner Pilot produces a similar breed of music that fits neatly into the pop punk category, occasionally bordering on emo pop. Though the band is often accused of drawing too heavily on its influences and thus sounding more like a knockoff than anything original, Banner Pilot still has a solid fan base throughout the Midwest, where it tours regularly.
