ALTAAR is an ambient doom band from Norway. The group makes demonic sounding tunes with a distinctive ethereal quality and often undefined beginnings, middles and ends. Though the group's amalgamation-of-sound style might be difficult to listen to for those who are used to songs with catchy choruses and crisp studio refinement, ALTAAR makes a ferocious, yet somehow tranquil, form of music that's both engulfing, and nearly overwhelming to listen to.
