About
Classical-influenced rock band Alpha Rev was formed in Austin, Texas in 2005. The seven-piece combines violin, cello and other classical instruments with big, sweeping alternative rock that is similar in spirit to pop-minded modern rock bands in the ilk of Coldplay and Snow Patrol. Lead singer and songwriter Casey McPherson possesses a versatile voice that easily switches between an even-keeled approach and a high falsetto, matching the shifting emotional tones in his songs. Alpha Rev's single, "New Morning" (from the debut album of the same name), cracked the Billboard Top 100 chart in 2010.
