Beijing, China's New Pants has been around since 1996 and combines synthpop with 80s new wave sounds. The band's music is generally fast and punctuated by analog, over-saturated synths sounds and relentless drums. The speed of the band's rhythms is indicative of disco's influence on their music, too; a 4/4 beat enters as furiously and schizophrenically as it exits. New Pants have released a number of records since their mid-90s start.
