After graduating from The New School in New York with a degree is jazz vocals and classical guitar, Becca Stevens a Native of North Carolina, got all of her most talented friends in a room and started writing songs. All those jazz-centric writing sessions produced the eccentric and eclectic folk record Tea Bye Sea (2008). Her three piece backing group often have fun reassembling songs to make them sound like their very own, take for example their version of "Kissed By A Rose" originally performed by Seal in which the melodies are reconstructed in a such a way that it is almost unrecognizable from the original.
