Beausoleil

Beausoleil is a six-piece group from Lafayette, LA and one of the most renowned ensembles to still be creating traditional Cajun music. Each of the bands lyrics is sung in either English or the French Cajun dialect known as creole, and every one of its 22 albums since 1977's Spirit of Cajun Music has been nominated for a Grammy. The group finally converted one of its nominations into a win with the critically acclaimed L'Amour Ou la Folie in 1997. Often referred to as Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet, the band is fronted by singer/songwriter Michael Doucet, a main soldier in the fight to preserve the Cajun tradition of music.
