The musical attempts to take on the persona of Britney Spears with a special flare and deftness that provides a refreshingly neutral take on one of America's most controversial figures without sacrificing the play's entertainment value. In addition to co-writing the music, lyrics, and designing the costumes, Molly Bell premiered Becoming Britney in 2009 at the New York International Fringe Festival as the musical's star to great acclaim from both critics and audiences alike.
