About
Awek is a four-piece blues band from Toulouse, France. The group sings in English and even throws in a tinge of jazz and swing music into its repertoire to spice things up. Bertolino revs his harmonica through a guitar amp giving it the quintessential American juke-joint sound. The guys in the band even went so far as to record its 2007 Burning Wire On South Lamar in Texas to capture a bit of the state's lost desert energy.
