Intentionally cheesy synthpop with smooth vocals is the specialty of Massachusetts-based band fronted by Emil Hewitt, appropriately titled Emil & Friends. Often showing up to live shows decked out in nothing but spandex and crooning about love, members of Emil & Friends attempt to seduce the audience, with the understanding that the audience will be more amused than aroused. Still, the over-the-top seduction has charm and the musicians have talent; the audience members tend to enjoy themselves immensely, so perhaps the seduction is a success.
