Jah Mason

Jah Mason is a singer and DJ from Jamaica. His birth name is Andre Johnson but under this pseudonym he released the single "Selassie I Call We" in 1999 under the guidance of JR Reid--legendary Reggae producer and member of Black Uhuru. Mason then became a Bobo Ashanti (type of Rastafarian) and began wrapping his head in a turban as well as writing socially conscious lyrics. He put out his debut full-length album Keep Your Joy in 2002 and has had great success in his home country, the Caribbean, and Europe.
