Far too few bands nowadays possess an unpretentious dedication to music. A good deal of individuals who are part of a band are in it for impure reasons: women, money, fame, et al. After listening to the Melbourne-based alt-rock band Little Red, though, there's little doubt that the five guys in the group are making songs for one reason--a love of music. Formed in 2005, Little Red has been honing its approach to song composition and live performance by spending a good amount of time both in the studio and on stage, performing to throngs of folks who tend to be converted fans after they see the group in a live setting. Primarily cranking out an easy-to-like style of modern rock with jangly guitars, simple rhythms and well-executed harmonies that hearken back to surf rock groups of the 1960s, Little Red is a band with a good amount of potential, and with more time under its belt the quintet will surly prove its worth as one of Australia's more interesting music exports.
