Antigona is an Italian opera by Tommaso Traetta based on Sophicles's 442 BCE play Antigone. The story revolves around the exiled king Oedipus' two sons Eteocles and Polynices, who must brutally fight each other for the title of king. The opera is broken down into three acts of tragedy and runs about an hour and a half.
