Canadian singer-songwriter Colin James kick-started his career by opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1984. He went on tour with Vaughn as his opener. He debuted in 1988 with a self-titled album. He has released several albums such as Sudden Stop, National Steel, Traveler and Miles To Go since then.
