Noun is the solo project of Marissa Paternoster, the guitarist/vocalist for Screaming Females. The New Jersey-based musician uses Noun to showcase her solo songwriting, while keeping the same DIY aesthetic as Screaming Females. Preferring to record her songs at home rather than in the studio, her debut solo album Holy Hell is extremely lo-fi, with somewhat of a throwback to female grunge musicians of the 1990s.
