The Good Ones

The Good Ones is a band comprised of three men who all survived the Rwandan genocides of 1994. All members sing simultaneously in Kinyarwanda, their native language. They often play on borrowed guitars, since the average worker in Rwanda still only makes about 50 cents a day and instruments are just not as important as food. Even though The Good Ones write happy folk songs, the hardships each member has faced comes across clearly in their voices and in their imperfect guitar playing.
