His early life in Nubia and subsequent move to Cairo after the Aswan Dam floods influenced his musical and political perspectives. Mounir's career took off with his debut album Alemony Eneeki in 1977, followed by numerous successful albums like Ahmar Shafayef and Ta'm El Beyout.
