Initially a new solo venture for ambient composer Cale Parks, BRAHMS suddenly became a full-fledged band after landing an opening slot for a sold out Passion Pit show, just one month after the project had come into existence. With only a few weeks to write and practice enough songs to fill a set, and with a name that references one of the great classical composers of the Romantic period, BRAHMS found itself in a precarious position. However, the Brooklyn-based group prevailed and won over the audience with a livetronica style that hearkens back to the eras of 1970s synthpop and 1980s new wave. Since then, the trio has continued to tour across the US, opening for other prominent indie bands, and has released a few hit 7" singles.--Disbanded in 2015--
