Derya Uluğ, born on February 21, 1986, in İzmir, Turkey, is a celebrated Turkish singer of Bulgarian Turkish and Albanian descent. She began her musical journey at a young age and studied music and violin at Muğla University, later graduating from Haliç University Conservatory. Uluğ initially worked as a backing vocalist for Ebru Gündeş before embarking on her solo career. Her debut single "Okyanus" in 2016 garnered significant acclaim, winning the "Best Newcomer Soloist" award at the Golden Butterfly Awards. She has since released notable singles such as "Canavar," "Ne Münasebet," and "Kanunlar Gibi," and her album Nefes (2023) received critical praise. Uluğ’s music blends contemporary pop with traditional Turkish elements, reflecting her diverse background and musical influences.
