After various stints working as collaborators or backing musicians for the likes of John Vanderslice, Earlimart and the Watson Twins, the five members of Los Angeles-based alt-country band Everest decided to come together and create the music each of them had always wanted to make. The result is old-fashioned country-influenced rock and roll that attempts to channel the spirit of greats of the genre, such as Neil Young and The Band. Mellow songwriting and three-part harmonies are coupled with the occasional raucous jam or blistering solo to help keep things interesting.
