The Parting Gifts

Formed by Greg Cartwright of Reigning Sound and Coco Hames of The Ettes, The Parting Gifts was originally only meant to be a 7” collaboration by the two Nashville-based musicians, written and recorded while their other bands weren’t particularly active. The duo worked so well together, however, that Cartwright and Hames decided to release a full length album and tour in support of it. Evidently others agreed with the success of the collaboration, as the duo was able to wrangle up a cast of prominent musicians as guests on The Parting Gifts’ debut album, including members of The Black Keys and The Raconteurs.
