Bill Gaither

With his involvement in several vocal groups and his penning of many contemporary standards with his wife Gloria, Bill Gaither is an important figure in the Southern Gospel and contemporary Christian music worlds. Born in Indiana in 1936, Gaither lends his piano and guitar talents, along with his low, baritone voice to many original and traditional Gospel songs with groups such as the Gaither Vocal Band and the Bill Gaither Trio. Since his career beginnings in the 1950s, Gaither's success has led to more entrepreneurial projects, including television production, booking agencies and record labels.
