About
A native of Mount Kisco, New York, Dar Williams released her debut CD The Honesty Room in 1993. Dar Williams is a gardener of melodies through gentle feminine ballads that require you take a moment to stop and take deep breathes of fresh air. She has often times posed political and ethical questions in her songs like "When I Was a Boy" from her debut and "The Business of Things" from her 2007 release Promised Land. In addition to her music, Williams has authored three books entitled The Tofu Tollbooth, Amalee, and Lights, Camera, Amalee. Dar Williams is not afraid to speak her mind, much like one of her favorite songwriters Joan Baez.
