Formed in 1999, Peter Björn & John is a Swedish indie rock band that rose to international acclaim when its beloved song "Young Folks" hit the airwaves in 2006. The infectious tune, a single off of the album Writer's Block, helped bring the band a larger fan base, placing it under the world's microscope and transforming it from a hard-edged rock troupe into a radio-friendly, record label darling. When Peter Björn & John didn't deliver a commercial single off its 2009 follow-up LP Living Thing, the group was demoted from a mainstream hit-maker and managed to recapture its rightful position as one of indie rock's international gems.
