Cartel

Cartel is a five piece pop punk band from a small town in rural Georgia. The current members met while attending Georgia State University and soon after formed Cartel in 2003. Despite a debut album released on mega label giant, Epic Records and a brash of 'tween and mall punk fans falling at its feet, the band is probably best known for participating in MTV's publicity/marketing experiment known as Band in a Bubble in 2007. On the show, Cartel had 20 days to write and record an album while living in a "bubble," as fans were able to watch on MTV and online live, 24 hours a day. The fruits of the group's labor yielded a self-titled album full of the sugary vocal melodies, driving rhythms and indie-chic the band is known for.
