Ramona Gonzalez is an artist. She primarily working in the field of multimedia - setting up visual and sound immersion pieces around Los Angeles - but Gonzalez is also a composer and bedroom electropop singer/songwriter who performs and releases music under her Nite Jewel guise. Because Gonzalez uses a rather primitive 8-track cassette deck to record, her songs tend to sound rather lo-fi with shoddy production techniques. The Nite Jewel sonic aesthetic has resounded well with a fans of the chillwave genre and even though her 2009 debut LP, Good Evening, was panned by a few notable music publications, it helped establish Gonzalez as a fairly interesting female electronic musician whose career can, and hopefully will, prove fruitful.
