Drawing inspiration from her multicultural ancestry, Pongo creates music that is an eclectic mix of electronic, pop and reggae. Born Engrácia Silva, she was first spotted at the age of fifteen when she rapped with the group Buraka Som Sistema. After a long hiatus, she returned to the music scene in the late 2010s. She has delivered noteworthy works like Baia and UWA ever since her return.
