About

Emma Nadine Stevens, better known as just Emma Stevens, is a British singer-songwriter. Originally from Guildford, she started creating melodies when she was just a toddler. Spotting her talent, her parents enrolled her in cello and piano lessons at the age of six. She started writing songs around the age of 12 when she took up the guitar. Her first stage performance was at 13 at a local venue in town. Heartbreak at the age of 17 inspired the song "How to Write a Love Song," which was featured on the EP Heart on Hand. While studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music, she and friend Charlotte Hewson founded Wildstar and played covers and original tracks like "Fine Day," "Looking For Love" and "Footprints." After graduating from ACM, she joined the band Shooting Lead Rabbits, which toured Europe in 2010 and signed a distribution deal with FNAC. Songwriting sessions in LA with Charlie Midnight led Stevens to consider a solo career seriously. They began working on what would become her first four EPs. In 2012, she was chosen by BBC Introducing - a series for upcoming, unsigned artists. Her first single, "A Place Called You," was released later that year and went on to become one of her most successful songs. Her first album, Enchanted, was issued the following year, and its followup album Waves hit the shelves in 2015. Stevens' most popular tracks include "O'Come Emmanuel," "Happy," "Sunflower," "(Teach Me to Breathe) Underwater" and "Riptide."
