Alice Russell is a British soul singer who blends her love of the soul genre's past with a bit of modern flare. Her vocals strive to emulate some of the classic divas she grew up admiring--like Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone--and the production of her albums tastefully recreate the dusty vibe of soul cuts from the 1960s and 1970s.
