About

Producers and musicians Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm played in various math rock and dance punk bands, including Professor Murder and Don Caballero, before joining forces to make music together. In 2008, the two began experimenting with meshing tropicalia with airy synth. They decided to call themselves Tanlines and were met with a good deal of positive acclaim, self-releasing a few singles before releasing an EP on True Panther Sounds (part of the indie powerhouse Matador Records).
