The University of Oregon is a public research university based out of Eugene, Oregon that was founded in 1876. The Ducks are the sports teams that compete for the school in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I as part of the Pac-12 Conference. Though the school hosts a large and varied number of sports teams, it is primarily known for its football team and its groundbreaking track and field program, the latter of which helped Eugene earn the nickname "Track Town USA."
