Kentucky Wildcats

The University of Kentucky is a public university based in Lexington, Kentucky that was originally founded in 1865 under the name Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky. The Wildcats are the sports teams that compete for the school in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I in the Southern Conference. Female teams used to be called the "Lady Kats," but all teams became known as the "Wildcats" after 1995. The masses of Wildcats fans are known as the "Big Blue Nation."
