The Crimson Tide is the name of the athletic teams that compete on behalf of the school in NCAA Division I sports. The school's two main rivalries are with Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. Its Auburn rivalry is especially contentious, with the teams' annual football game considered to be one of the most heated of all college football games.
