James Darren is a film and television actor with a successful singing career. This Philadelphia local began his career in 1956 with Rumble on the Docks, it was a crime/drama film for which Darren was lauded by viewers and critics for his wondrous performance. This started a string of successful films which made him one of the most popular teenage actors of his time. Darren's stardom received a boost in the early '60s when he dabbled in the music industry. Tracks like "Goodbye Cruel World" is his biggest hit for which he even received a gold disc. Apart from acting on the silver screen, he has also played pivotal roles in hit TV series such as The Time Tunnel and T.J. Hooker.
