During the late '80s and early '90s Hamburg, Germany had a sprawling music scene. Drawing influence from punk, grunge and experimental pop, many bands helped pioneer a unique sound that would come be known as Hamburger Schule (English translation: Hamburg School). One of the prominent bands to have emerged from these scene is the rock group Tocotronic, a band that's known for its impressive studio undertakings but also for its bodacious live shows too.
