Fronted by singer Sharon den Adel's soaring vocals, the Dutch metal band Within Temptation creates goth-tinged prog-metal with an over-the-top symphonic bent and a strong ear towards poppy melodies that would be equally at home in folk music. Founded in the mid 90s by den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt, Within Temptation quickly became one of most popular Dutch bands of all time, hitting the top of the charts and headlining countless European music festivals.
