Memory Tapes is the stage name of New Jersey based recording artist Dayve Hawk. Debuting his project in 2009 with the well received LP Seek Magic, Memory Tapes arrived during indie music's infatuation with chillwave. Though Hawk's music can be categorized as electronic, its more akin to retro pop music that saw its heyday in the '80s.
