Choir Boy is created by Tarell Alvin McCraney, the mind behind the emotionally moving "In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue." Choir Boy takes place within the walls of Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys which has a reputation of producing strong and ethical black men, a tradition which has continued for decades. But things start to change when a talented, but "unmanly" boy becomes the leader of the school's prestigious gospel choir. This Choir Boy is a tale of perseverance and bravery and has received positive reviews when it premiered in 2012 at the Royal Court Theater, London.
